You are good enough. You’re more than enough.
Dear Girl Who Doesn’t Think She’s Good Enough,
First of all, you are good enough, you are more than enough. You are beautiful, wonderful, and more than deserving of love.
Forget about the boy you endlessly pursued despite him never giving you the time of day.
You are worthy of being pursued. All you can think about is all the texts you’ve sent with no reply. You feel like you’ve put so much effort into something that was a waste of time. This boy constantly made you wonder what was wrong with you. You often tried to figure out what this boy liked and you changed yourself for him. But girl, you deserve a boy who will like you for you. If a boy makes you feel like you are not good enough, HE is not good enough for you. You will find a boy who loves who you are and what you stand for. The boy that is good enough for you should always find ways to show you he loves you and everything about you. Never take any excuses and have expectations for your man. You deserve to receive the love you are willing to give.
Forget about the girl you always compared yourself to.
You are two different people, two different lives. Don’t strive to be her, be you! As cliché as it sounds, there is only one of you. Don’t try to be like someone else. You were made to be an individual, you have a personality different from anyone else in the world. Maybe that girl was always smarter than you, had the clothes you wanted, or always had every guy on their arm. But in 20 years, who is actually going to care about that? In 20 years, you’re not going to remember much of those details. Just because you aren’t just like the girl you’re comparing yourself to, does not mean that you aren’t good enough. It just means that you aren’t like her. And if you’re happy with how your life is, then there is no need to be just like someone else. You ARE good enough to be yourself.
Forget about that ‘C’ you made once on your finals.
Grades do not define you as a person. You are more than the C you just got on a test. Getting a “C” on a test means that you know 70% to 79% of the data that you were given to learn. And honestly, that’s pretty good. Humans are not perfect but as long as you learn from your mistakes on a test, or in life, then you’re doing pretty good. But when you have been in the work force for almost 30 years, do you honestly think that someone is going to ask you what you made on your Spanish 101 exam your Freshmen year in college? Probably not. Grades are only a number and they don’t define how smart you are, or how competent you are. As long as you are working your hardest to get where you want to go in life, you ARE good enough.
Forget about the ten pounds you think you need to lose.
You are beautiful. Embrace every curve you have (or don’t have). Just because you don’t have the thin figure of Kendall Jenner or the curvaceous body of Nicki Minaj, does not mean you aren’t good enough. Who cares about society’s standards of beauty anyways? Sometimes you might look in the mirror and see some ugly cellulite on your thighs or you might see some stretch marks you want to get rid of. Part of knowing you deserve better is embracing yourself and loving who you are and what you look like. Learn to love your freckles, stretch marks, scars, and love handles. You don’t need to lose 10 pounds. Your body is flawless the way it was made. Weight does not define a person either. Just because you are a little bit curvier than one girl, does not mean that you aren’t good enough. You ARE good enough and deserve to love all of your beautiful self.
All in all, please girl, know that you ARE good enough. You are beautiful, smart, strong, and deserving and capable of loving. In fact, you’re more than just “good enough,” you’re fantastic. Believe in yourself and know that you are amazing.
And to quote Demi Lovato “What’s wrong with being confident?”
